Nicholas has acted in numerous significant matters, including:
East Coast Helicopters Pty Ltd v Stirling Helicopters Pty Ltd & Anor [2025] QDC 176 – Successfully defended a client against claims alleging that he owed a duty of care in negligence in relation to services provided by a corporate entity of which the client was a director.
HYN v KZW [2024] QSC 331 – acted for an applicant in successfully obtaining relief pursuant to section 21 of the Succession Act 1981 (Qld), resulting in orders authorising the making of a will for the adult lacking testamentary capacity.
Weeks & Ors v Bell & Anor [2025] QDC 30 – acted in a successful claim for plaintiffs seeking recovery of funds advanced pursuant to what was found to be an ineffective contract, and the funds were recovered by restitutionary relief
Weeks & others v Bell & Anor [2025] QDC 24 – successful opposition of an application that a party to proceedings be granted leave to give evidence remotely
Turch v Tripolone [2025] NSWSC 86 – acted in a successful claim to have a grant to an administrator of a deceased estate revoked and transfer of real property set aside founded upon the principles of trustee self-dealing.
Issa v Owens [2023] QSC 4 – acted in a successful claim for a plaintiff seeking declarations that a mortgage procured by a forgery was void.
Nendy v Armstrong & Ors (2020) 6 QR 684 – acted in a successful claim for the plaintiff founded on a claim in proprietary estoppel, and resisting a counter – claim based on adverse possession, obtaining the imposition of a remedial constructive trust over real property
